On May 12, 2021 IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) has just opened registration for all Indonesian students to take part in the student exchange program to all universities in the world. This program is managed by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) and Kemendikbudristek which is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in higher education institutions under the auspices of the Directorate General of Higher Education. One of the students from the ITK Chemical Engineering Study Program passed the student exchange selection held by IISMA. The student is named Fitri Amanda, along with the response from Fitri Amanda regarding the experience gained during the student exchange.

“When I first arrived in this city, honestly, there was a lot of culture shock, especially from local food which almost all tastes sour, then their use of English, which still has a Thai accent, hehehe. Lecturers, native friends from Thailand, canteen workers, dormitory workers are all very friendly.”

"The facilities on this campus are also very comfortable and well such as a gym, swimming pool, jogging/running track with a beautiful view of the campus lake, ATMs and their banks, hospitals, vending machines, and a 7-floor library, which is a very large library."

“Class sessions during college were no less interesting and I gained new knowledge about business, starting from the most basic ones such as human resource management to only one focus such as food business. And the most interesting thing is when classes (unfortunately classes are still conducted online) where the zoom name only needs a nickname, so the class atmosphere between students and lecturers feels close. And usually, Thai names are also very long. What is a little unfortunate here is that it is difficult to find a place of worship for Muslims.”

“So far the program has been cool, there are lots of cross-cultural activities, especially on Kartini Day. Not only meeting new friends from various countries but also meeting friends from Indonesia from various universities.”

“I think IISMA is a very good opportunity for all students because the IISMA program itself does not look at the university, so IISMA itself selects students from all universities fairly. And my advice is just to try IISMA and don't be afraid to try it because when will you get an opportunity like this and it will be 100% funded. And once you get this opportunity you are proud not only of yourself but your parents, friends and of course, the campus must be very proud.”
