Process engineers have responsibility in designing, controlling, and optimizing industrial processes. Chemical Engineering programs enable the graduates to design industrial processes to convert raw material into more valuable goods. With the knowledge of designing process, the graduates are also expected to be able to modify the existing plant to have better performance or efficiency. In addition, Chemical Engineering graduates also have the knowledge about controlling the process to meet the design of the process. 

Production staff is an engineer who supplies day to day support for a production process. The knowledge of chemical substances, process, safety, and other supporting knowledge set in this program are sufficient for the graduates to play their role as production staff. 

Chemical engineering graduates are able to be an environmental engineer who has the responsibility to the relationship between the chemical process and the environmental aspect to meet the requirement of environmental regulation.  

The understanding of chemical substances, processes, and equipment are beneficial for the graduates to work as sales engineer. In addition, the graduates are expected to have good communication skill which help them to deliver ideas. With sufficient knowledge and good communication skill, CE graduates can work professionally as Sales Engineer.

The graduates have adequate basic and advanced knowledge, they are also complemented with research skill. Thus, they will be able to do research. The research could be about developing new product or process and improving the efficiency and cost effectiveness of existing product/process. 

The understanding about chemical process can support the graduates who want to pursue their career as regulator. The regulator is a staff member in a government institution who has the responsibility in administration and regulation. Chemical engineering graduates can be a regulator related to the chemical product and process.  

Chemical Engineering Consultants use the specialized knowledge to businesses and government about chemical process. The CE program is also equipped with math, analytical, and teamwork skill which enable them to work professionally as consultant.  

Chemical Engineering programs enable the graduates to solve problem that meaningful to the market, this is useful for them to become an entrepreneur. Feasibility study of industrial plant sharpen the graduate’s skill set to plan a business especially to see whether a business will be profitable or not. Furthermore, additional knowledge such as entrepreneurship, engineering economics, and operation management also give additional knowledge to run a business.
