Institut Teknologi Kalimantan Student Chapter has been selected to receive the 2022 Student Chapter Excellence Award by Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE). This award recognizes SPE student chapters with exceptional activities and programs in technical dissemination, professional development, member engagement, community involvement, and operations.

SPE ITK is a Student Activity Unit which was initiated by the ITK Chemical Engineering Study Program which joined since 2021.
Dian Rahmawati, M.EngSc as the supervisor of this organization is grateful for "Although the ITK Balikpapan Student Chapter was only established 1 year ago, we can show that with solid cohesiveness our efficiency can be calculated and it is hoped that further SPE ITK can also be achieved. beneficial for students and society".
