On June 6, 2021 Pertamina RU V held the Grand Final of the Pertamina RU V Innovation Project which took place at the BlueSky Hotel Balikpapan. In this Grand Final event, there were 5 teams from various universities and institutes that made it to the final stage. The team representing the Kalimantan Institute of Technology consists of 4 teams, one of which is a team from Chemical Engineering Students of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology. It is also very encouraging news that a team from Chemical Engineering Students of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology won 1st place in the Innovation Project event organized by PT. Pertamina (PERSERO) RU V.

The innovation presented in this competition from Chemical Engineering Students of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology is "Utilizing Palm Oil Waste as Raw Material for Making Paper". This is certainly a matter of pride for the Kalimantan Institute of Technology campus and in particular for the Chemical Engineering Study Program because the knowledge and experience gained during lectures is very useful and able to provide innovations for the future. And it is also proven that the Chemical Engineering Study Program is a pioneer of product innovation that will be used for the present and even for the future.
